Improve your English language skills to the level required by your University of Stirling degree, from anywhere in the world. This intensive programme offers progress of 0.5–1.0 IELTS points per term (depending on course length).
You’ll increase your confidence in English reading, writing, listening and speaking – both in social and academic settings – with a focus on subject-specific vocabulary and study skills.
Our online course is highly interactive, offering the same expert teaching and high standards as our in-person classes. If you prefer to learn face-to-face, we also offer an on-campus Pre-sessional English course.

Our online courses are suitable for students with current overall IELTS levels between 5.0 and 6.5 and who need to improve their IELTS score by either 0.5 (8-week course) or 1.0 (12-week courses).
We accept a wide variety of English language tests including IELTS https://www.ielts.org/ (Academic and UKVI Academic), PTE https://www.pearsonpte.com/ (Academic and UKVI Academic), TOEFL iBThttps://www.ets.org/toefl, Password English Language Testinghttps://www.englishlanguagetesting.co.uk/test-takers/ and China College English Testhttp://cet.neea.edu.cn/ (CET) for online pre-sessional English courses.
All English language tests must be taken within 2 years of the start date of the Pre-sessional English course.
